<라스트 씬>은 득달같이 내달리는 삶속에서 우리가 잃어버린 것들을 찾아가는 영화다. 국도예술관을 중심으로 기록된 지역 극장의 모습과 영화를 애정하는 관객이 만드는 공기는 잠들어 있던 감각을 깨우며 영화와 극장의 의미에 대해 묻는다. 동시에 세상이 요구하는 속도에서 벗어나 우리가 서 있는 자리의 가치를 톺아본다. 이는 새로운 시작을 맞이하는 작은 쉼표다.

<Last Scene> is a film about searching for what we have lost in the merciless rush of life. The past and the present of the Kukdo Theatre and other local theaters, and the atmosphere emanated by the film-loving audiences, rekindles our dulled senses and presents us with questions about the significance of films and theaters. The film allows us to remove ourselves from the contemporaneous need for speed, and contemplate on the value of the place that we stand on. It is a brief rest before a new beginning. 

시놉시스

좁은 골목 끝에 작은 극장이 오랫동안 자리하고 있다. 10년 동안 극장을 운영하고 있는 무극성과 육형님의 하루는 어제와 오늘이 다르지 않다. 관객을 맞이하고, 극장의 빛을 기록하고, 영화를 상영한다. 무극성이 손수 제작한 티켓을 자르고 또 잘라도 극장으로 내려오는 발소리는 들리지 않는다. 책상 가득 널부러진 티켓을 보며 무극성이 빈 극장을 한숨으로 채운다. 영화는 그 곳과 사정이 다르지 않은 극장으로 짧은 여행을 떠난다.

Walk down a narrow corridor in Seoul, and you come across a small theater that has held its place for many years. “Mugeukseong” and “Yukhangnyeon” have been running the theater for 10 years. Their daily routines haven’t changed all these years: they welcome audiences, record the lights of the theater, and show films. Mugeukseong spends hours cutting tickets that she designed herself, listening, in vain, for the footsteps of audiences coming down the theater. The film takes audiences on a short journey to Kukdo and other small theaters  faced with similar fates.
